City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Agricultural Tractor Driving and Related Operations

Safe tractor operation in agriculture, forestry and horticulture is an essential part of a challenging area of work. This course is particularly suitable for new entrants or those who have had little formal instruction in the safe use and operation of these types of vehicles.

Course content:
Health and Safety at Work Act
Tractor controls
Safe handling techniques of tractor and equipment
Daily maintenance checks
Brakes and braking
Hitching and unhitching trailed equipment

Manoeuvring with and without trailers

Hitching and unhitching mounted and PTO equipment
There is a separate tractor loader use section to the qualification, which we may be able to provide subject to candidates having some existing tractor driving experience. Please notify us at enrolment if you are interested in training for the loader part of the qualification too.
Please wear safety boots, preferably boiler-suit overalls, but old clothes are ok as you will get dirty.

Please note – This course does not licence those who pass to drive on the Highway.
